Will Greenwood is not only an England World Cup winner, but also a director of Champions Cider. Will has been involved in the Champions Cider journey since day one and is a crucial part of the Champions team. We decided to interview him to find out about his Champion moments.
What was your best champion moment?
Winning the England World Cup in 2003 has to be up there with one of my favourite moments and it was definitely a champion moment for not just me but the whole England team. There is also the birth of my children and meeting the queen as well which was a crazy moment.
What was it like meeting the Queen?
After winning the world cup, what were the celebrations like afterwards?
They were very big celebrations, a lot of alcohol was involved! We could have done with an alcohol free option to prevent the hangovers the following day! I think all of our heads were a bit sore.
What makes Champion cider stand out?
I think the low alcohol content is great, especially for any players that have a game the following day. Being in a sport environment the ciders low calories makes it a good guilt free drink with no hangover the following day, which is a win win really.
What encouraged you to become a director of champion cider?
I really stand behind the non alcoholic aspect of cider; I think socialising is such a huge part of rugby culture and drinking comes hand in hand with that. Bringing a non alcoholic cider into the mix could be really influential on the rugby community and gives a different option to alcohol while remaining sociable.
Do you have any plans for the future?
I guess it's hard to plan anything throughout lockdown, but I think just getting out and seeing friends and family. I have a few things in the pipelines work wise too.
